Heart Murmur

A heart murmur is just a whooshing sound involving the beats that a doctor hears via a stethoscope. The whoosh is merely a supplementary noise that the blood makes since it flows through the heart. Medical practioners frequently discover murmurs throughout regular checkups or when children see the physician because they are sick. Normal heart [...]

I Have High Cholesterol, and I Don’t Care (Part I)

We’ve been told for 50 years that eating saturated fat and cholesterol causes heart disease. Yet recent research suggests exactly the opposite is true. The low-fat, high-carb diet promoted by the American Heart Association actually causes heart disease! Make sure to watch Part II (also on my channel) for the conclusion. [...]

Meat & Dairy = Cancer & Heart Disease

This short clip discusses the negative effects that meat and dairy (animal proteins) have on humans. We as a society are sicker now than ever before with degenerative diseases brought on from an overload of animal products. Everyone can learn something here, even if it’s reducing consumption of meat and dairy and increasing consumption of whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables. Dr. Colin T. Campbell has spent most of his life researching this and I hope for the sake of your own personal well being and of those you love, you take the time to listen. www.thechinastudy.com [...]

The Cholesterol Lie: What Your Doctor Doesn’t Know

- Cholesterol does not cause heart disease, according to 15 years of research. – LDL (“bad cholesterol”) and HDL (“good cholesterol”) are actually proteins, not cholesterol. – According to research, heart disease is caused by the food additives glucose and fructose. Cholesterol is necessary for life, is made by the liver, and occurs in almost all living organisms. Many heart attack victims have normal cholesterol levels. High fructose corn syrup, added to many processed foods and colas, is the number one source of calories in the US. This explains why so many people have heart disease and diabetes. Diabetes is reversible in at least 95% of all cases. Good nutrition causes LDL particles to be larger, which is important because this keeps them from getting stuck during transport and causing damage. Cholesterol drugs do not affect particle size, have serious side effects, and kill thousands of people each year. G20 MAN ‘DIED OF HAEMORRHAGE’ ITV News 17.04.2009

Ian Tomlinson died of an abdominal haemorrhage and not a heart attack, a second post-mortem has shown. The newspaper vendor, who was struck and shoved to the ground by police during the G20 protests, was initially thought to have died from a heart attack. But a second examination contradicted these findings, Mr Tomlinson’s family solicitor said. The post-mortem, carried out by Dr Nat Cary at the request of the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) and Mr Tomlinson’s family, rejected the earlier conclusion of Dr Freddy Patel that Mr Tomlinson died from coronary artery disease. It said: “Dr Cary’s opinion is that the cause of death was abdominal haemorrhage. The cause of the haemorrhage remains to be ascertained. Dr Cary accepts that there is evidence of coronary atherosclerosis but states that in his opinion its nature and extent is unlikely to have contributed to the cause of death.” The news came as the IPCC revealed an officer suspended over Mr Tomlinson’s death has been questioned under caution for manslaughter. Mr Tomlinson’s son Paul King said: “First we were told that there had been no contact with the police, then we were told that he died of a heart attack. Now we know that he was violently assaulted by a police officer and died from internal bleeding. [...]

These are deposits consisting of fat and cellular debris that increasingly narrow the vessel over time. If these plaques tear, a thrombus develops at the site of the disruption, which might detach and lead to a thrombosis. If the blocked vessel is a coronary artery, the area that is no longer supplied with blood, is cut off from oxygen- and energy supply — a heart attack occurs. English: Heart attacks occur most often as a result of a condition called coronary artery disease. In coronary artery disease, a fatty material called plaque builds up over many years on the inside walls of the coronary arteries.Eventually, an area of plaque can rupture, causing a blood clot to form on the surface of the plaque. If the clot becomes large enough, it can mostly or completely block the flow of oxygen-rich blood to the part of the heart muscle fed by the artery. [...]

Peripheral Artery Disease: More Than Muscles Aches

What is peripheral artery disease and what are its symptoms? Dr. Arshed Quyyumi explains. In peripheral artery disease the arteries in the legs narrow, limiting blood flow to one’s muscles. It often goes unrecognized, causing no symptoms at all – or symptoms you may think are something else, such as muscle cramps. PAD is usually caused by atherosclerosis, the same disease process that causes heart attacks and strokes. It’s important to recognize that even mild peripheral artery disease is an important signal that atherosclerosis might be affecting vital arteries elsewhere. About Dr. Arshed Quyyumi Dr. Arshed Quyyumi is a professor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, Emory University. To fight heart attack and atherosclerosis

What is a myocardial infarction or heart attack ? It is a life threatening emergency. It presents itself when, following the rupture of an atherosclerotic plaque, a blood clot occludes a coronary artery. The obstruction of the artery prevents blood form providing oxygen to the concerned region of the heart. As a consequence, this cardiac region loses the ability to contract and pump blood. Without an immediate intervention, it risks being permanently damaged. This video is part of the ELIPS program more information: elips.hug-ge.ch [...]

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention- Coronary Angioplasty

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, commonly known as coronary or balloon angioplasty, is a procedure to widen blocked arteries and restore blood flow to the heart muscle. PCI is used in cases where plaque buildup inside the arteries, known as athersclerosis or “hardening of the arteries,” causes a risk factor for heart attack. Coronary angiography, which uses a special dye visible on live X-Ray, is performed to locate the blocked artery. A balloon catheter expands the artery at the blockage, allowing blood to flow through the artery. A stent is often used to keep the artery open. A drug-eluting stent releases medication over time that will keep the blockage from reforming inside the stent. Stop Heart Attack, Prevent Heart Disease (Treatment: Buteyko Exercise)

Can we cure, prevent or stop heart attacks? What is the famous treatment of heart disease with the Buteyko breathing exercises? Learn how breathing retraining can prevent heart disease from Dr. Artour Rakhimov. Medical research (tens studies!) has shown that angina pain, during heart attack, appears due to hyperventilation (or breathing more than the medical norm). Hyperventilation or breathing more than the norm, as it is the case with all heart patients, constricts coronary arteries and arterioles, and reduces oxygen delivery to the heart muscle tissue. What is the heart attack treatment then? About 90% of heart patients can stop their heart attacks by practicing a simple reduced breathing exercise developed by Soviet MD Konstantin Buteyko and cure heart disease with breath retraining. Are there any medical doctors who successfully applied some therapy for patients to reverse their heart disease and prevent heart attacks? Yes, there are over 170 such medical professionals. Western official medicine wrongly claims that heart disease is impossible to treat and reverse. However, based on clinical experience and medical statistical data of Russian doctors, we can positively assert that chronic heart disease can be reversed since it is based on ineffective breathing pattern (over-breathing or hyperventilation) that decreases heart oxygenation. Hence, treatment of heart disease should be based on reversal of abnormal breathing. How to stop heart attacks? People with heart … [...]

Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) Procedure

This 3D medical animation of heart surgery shows a coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedure used to combat coronary artery disease. Beginning with a midline sternal incision, the heart is connected to a perfusion machine which will take over the duties of the heart while the surgery takes place. Two different grafts are used to bypass the blocked coronary arteries: the internal thoracic artery from inside the chest wall, and the saphenous vein from the leg. After the procedure, the heart is shocked to restart its beating. A drainage tube is left at the incision site to drain away excess fluid. Item #ANS00253 [...]

Dr Whiting on Heart Disease and Oral Chelation

phoenixnutritionals.com (CLICK HERE) In spite of dozens of drugs and numerous surgical procedures, heart disease is still the number one cause of death in most industrialized nations. While there are many forms of possible heart disease, the heart attack is the most common and most feared. Heart attacks can also come as a result of several causes, but the most common cause is the slow and steady blockage of arterial blood flow leading away from the heart. This narrowing of the arteries is called atherosclerosis. In theory, if we could reduce or remove the amount of atherosclerotic plaque, we could prevent the majority of heart attacks. This can now be done, in most cases, by safe, all-natural means. The American Dietetics Association has been telling us for decades, that the major cause of heart disease is the high saturated fat diet. This concept has prevented millions of people from preventing heart disease by diverting their attention to a factor that is minimal in the heart disease process. Diet does play a major role in the pathology of heart disease, but its not the saturated fats that are the culprit but rather the oxidized, rancid vegetable oils consumed in extremely high amounts that have led us to the heart disease epidemic. If you wish to follow a truly heart health diet, consider eliminating as many vegetable oils from your diet except for olive oil, which is actually heart healthy. Olive oil is monounsaturated and as such does not oxidize and form free … [...]

Caldwell Esselstyn, MD — "No More Heart Attacks — Ever"

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States for men and women. But, as Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., a former internationally known surgeon, researcher and clinician at the Cleveland Clinic, explains, it can be prevented, reversed, and even abolished. Dr. Esselstyn argues that conventional cardiology has failed patients by developing treatments that focus only on the symptoms of heart disease, rather than the cause. This is a 10-minute excerpt from Dr. Esselstyn’s 90-minute talk at the Healthy Lifestyle Expo 2007.
